JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Older adults gathered at JEA’s Downtown Headquarters on July 15 for the utility company’s monthly Senior Day, a free resource fair designed to connect seniors with programs and services that promote independence, wellness and financial stability.
During the event, attendees met with representatives from local agencies and community organizations offering information on utility assistance, energy and water conservation, transportation, aging services, health care resources and other support programs available throughout Northeast Florida.
The Jacksonville Public Library participated as a new community partner, providing information about its programs and services for older adults.
Participants also received complimentary JEA Efficiency Kits and free socks while supplies lasted. In addition, representatives from United Way 2-1-1 were available to help eligible customers begin the process of applying for utility bill assistance by scheduling appointments and explaining documentation requirements.
JEA hosts Senior Day each month to provide older adults with direct access to community resources that help them remain informed, connected and financially secure.
