JAX Chamber Announces Paul Jones as 2027 Chair-Elect

The JAX Chamber has unanimously selected Paul Jones to serve as the organization’s Chair-Elect for 2027. In this position, Jones will work with 2027 Chair Abel Harding of Pinnacle Financial Partners and JAX Chamber President & CEO Daniel Davis over the coming year to enhance the Chamber and its affiliated programs.

Jones currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor. His career began in high school as a summer employee, and in 2005, he joined the company full-time. Jones has been the company’s CEO since January 2021.

“I am honored and proud to be working alongside Paul this coming year,” Harding said. “He is a true champion for this business community and has a proven investment in our region.”

Jones is notorious for serving the Jacksonville community, having been recognized by various prestigious honors, including the Jacksonville Business Journal’s Ultimate CEO list and their 2020 “40 Under 40” Award, as well as the University of Florida’s 2021 “40 Gators Under 40” honor. Jones is an active member of the Gator Bowl Sports as their Vice Chair of Charities and Vice Chair of Marketing, as well as the Young Presidents’ Organization, Jax Civic Council, Guardian Ambassador, and has previously served on the UF RISE Advisory Council. He additionally served on the advisory board for United Community Bank and Cogent Bank and was a past board member of Junior Achievement and the University of Florida President’s Council Gold member.

“Paul has earned a strong reputation among Jacksonville’s business leaders,” says Davis. “His commitment to growth mirrors what we’re trying to accomplish here, that will pay off for our members and the region as a whole.”

In addition to his leadership roles, Jones held numerous leadership positions during his seven-year tenure on the Board of Directors for the Central and Northern Florida Chapter of Make-A-Wish Foundation. In recognition, he was appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to the Florida Building Commission, where he chaired the Plumbing Technical Advisory Committee until September 2022.

As a longstanding business and civic leader in Jacksonville, Jones has actively engaged with the Chamber for years as a board member, contributing to initiatives that enhance workforce development and regional competitiveness. As Chair-Elect, he will contribute to the Chamber’s policy agenda and encourage collaboration with both public and private sector partners.

“It’s a privilege to take on the role of Chair-Elect and help advance the Chamber’s mission of making Jacksonville a top destination for launching and scaling a business,” said Jones. “The momentum we’re seeing right now is real and I’m excited to partner with our members to keep that progress moving forward.”
