The Upsilon Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. hosted its 2nd Annual Veteran’s Day Luncheon in support of the women and men of the Armed Forces. The event was an opportunity to recognize heroes of our nation’s military in the North Florida area.
This year’s program was held at the Adam Herbert University Center on the campus of University of North Florida. Nearly 100 individuals including active and retired members of all branches, fraternity and sorority members and distinguished guests of the community were in attendance.
“As a 28 year veteran of the United States Army and the Florida Army National Guard, I know all too well the commitment that it takes to serve in our nation’s Armed Forces,” said Avery Cohen, Chapter President of the Upsilon Lambda chapter. The 2019 Veteran’s Recognition luncheon was highlighted by a keynote speech from LTC Charles Ervin Jr (Ret).
Following the luncheon, a Certificate of Appreciation was presented to the Upsilon Lambda chapter on behalf of Congressman Al Lawson, Representative 5th District.
