Girl Scouts of Gateway Council announced their Women of Distinction 2018 honorees.

The Council will honor local female leaders at the 2018 Women of Distinction fundraising event to be held at the Jacksonville Marriott on the Southside. The Women of Distinction award recognizes local women for their professional accomplishments, service to others and community impact.

This year seven female leaders were honored. The women nominated exemplify the Girl Scouts’ core values of honesty, fairness, caring, responsibility, service to others and community, inclusivity, respect and sisterhood.

The 2018 honorees are: Martha Baker (Community Volunteer & Advocate), Tamara Baker (Baker Klein Engineering PL), Giselle Carson (Marks Gray, P.A.), Camille Harrison (Florida Blue), Mary Kelli Palka (The Florida Times-Union), Nicole Thomas (Baptist Health) and Penny Thompson (Consultant). The Women of Distinction 2018 awards will be held Thursday, April 19, at 5:30 p.m., at the Jacksonville Marriott located at 4670 Salisbury Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32256.
