by Lynn Jones-Turpin – Greater Love Development Christian Center (GLDCC) and DEM KIDZ INC nonprofit organizations were formed when best friends Jamica Rivers and Tammy Seymour corporate employers suddenly closed its doors. Friends for more than 20 years, the duo have been helping mentoring and motivating youth and young adults in Duval of Jacksonville, Florida for years. As co-workers of a non-profit business, Jamica Rivers and Tammy Z Seymour often spoke to each 
other about becoming nonprofit organizations and lending a helping hand. “We thought to ourselves, we can do this. We have the tools, the students and the resources,” said Seymour. To solidify their partnership, GLDCC and DEM KIDZ INC recently collaborated and assisted local children with new shoes, school supplies and homeless needs through the Toys for Tots and teens program. Both companies were selected this year as a Westside location fulfillment center for Toys for Tots community needs.
