Professor and TEDxFSCJ Team Member William Jackson, M.Ed. hosted the “Rediscovering SPACE” a TEDxFSCJ community event held last week at the Museum of Science and History (MOSH). The knowledgeable panelist spoke about the future of space travel, evolving careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), manufacturing in space and traveling to distant planets and galaxies. The panelists shared their knowledge, experiences and passion for the space industry.

Panelist and 7th grade Bolles honors student Taylor Richardson, dreams of being an astronaut and is an advocate for literacy for inner city children and STEM education in schools. “Building girls self esteem for a STEAM career is critical to our generation’s success. We have to dream big and reach literally for the stars in space exploration,” said Taylor.

Other members of the panel represented private space industries, NASA scientist, engineers and astronauts. At the close of the evening, attendees had the opportunity to look through telescopes positioned atop the museums roof. Shown is panelist Taylor Richardson and Professor William Jackson.
