    Florida Blue Offering Free Wellness Classes

    Florida Blue River City Market place community specialist Marie Norman serves as a social service professional and health coach. Her position as Community Specialist is to help make life easier, one day at a time. “We help members and non-members achieve better health by connecting them with needed services and resources within the community,’ said Center Director Barry Case, Jr. 

    Shown are seniors with specialist Marie Norman moving those necks for some well-deserved stretches.

    Each center throughout Duval county assists seniors with a barrage of services that include: helping with resources to lower the cost of medications; community support resources; food programs; transportation services; financial assistance programs; life planning/advance directives; government programs; housing assistance programs; children & youth services and military & veteran services; health plan literacy; access to care; referrals to mental health facilities/programs and medication savings programs.

    Highlighting the services inside the River City marketplace location are the senior activities that include: senior and Mommy and Me yoga, weekend Zumba classes and senior fitness held every Thursday.  To participate in a class and for more info call (904) 394-2250.
