City of Jacksonville political members were invited to join a small business development discussion during the First Thursday Jacksonville June meeting at the Jacksonville Urban League. First Thursdays has been a driving force behind assisting entrepreneurs with resources to gain insight into local, national and government contracts. Their current agenda is a business loan match partnership with the Jacksonville Urban League. The program is not exclusive to any group or organization and is open to any small business or new entrepreneur in the service area of the JUL. Other items on their agenda is the completion of an Equity Crowd Funding program which is scheduled to begin accepting applications in the fall for investment projects up to $2 Million.
“There remain quite a few details and policies that are being ironed out before applications can be processed. Especially since this is basically a ‘pilot’ program between the Jacksonville Urban League and other entities,” stated First Thursday Chairman W. L. Williams.
