On Thursday, December 1, First Coast Magazine will host their second annual Toast of the Coast craft cocktail competition showcasing the talent of our region’s best mixologists. Located in the newly renovated Jessie Ball duPont Center, 15 of the top local mixologists will be serving up craft cocktails featuring Absolut Elyx, giving attendees the opportunity to sample their delicious concoctions and vote for their favorite drink. At the end of the evening, both a People’s Choice and Judge’s Choice winner will be announced and awarded a fabulous prize along with bragging rights.
Toast of the Coast will also feature one of Jacksonville’s most dynamic and versatile bands, The Chris Thomas Band, that will perform throughout the event. Some of Jacksonville’s best restaurants, including Restaurant Orsay and Biscottis, will be onsite serving up delicious bites for ravenous guests.
The Jessie Ball duPont Center, housed in one of Jacksonville’s architectural jewels is located in the heart of downtown. In the spirit of giving back locally, a portion of the event proceeds and all of the revenue from the silent auction, will go to benefit two downtown Jacksonville based charities, the Cathedral Arts Project, whose mission is to enrich the quality of life in Northeast Florida through unleashing the creative spirit of young people, and the CAPtivators, who are inspired leaders between the ages of 21 and 45 who help promote the Cathedral Arts Project’s mission by raising awareness of the necessity for arts education for Jacksonville’s children and youth.
“Our craft cocktail scene is really fantastic, and we are so excited to bring all these amazing mixologists together for our community,” Editor of First Coast Magazine, Nan Kavanaugh says. “It is going to be a great night downtown for a great cause, because the more art in the lives of our youth, the more beauty in the future to come.”
