Entrepreneur’s Legacy Lives on Through Foundations Goals and Next Steps

By Lynn Jones

Coming up this weekend is the annual Foundation for Fortitude (FOF) Pure White Affair honoring the legacy of local entrepreneur, philanthropist, visionary mentor and community champion, Sherry Blue. Blue founded the nonprofit and was the owner of Make it Happen Bail Bonds. The goal of FOF is to support, educate and empower young ladies into becoming the ultimate successful woman.

Sherry passed away unexpectedly in 2018 and now her team is prepared to move her legacy forward.

President, Roderick Wilkinson remarked, “It’s the ingenuity and mindset of the mentors and girls that make the program successful.” Roderick and her team teach the young ladies the importance of staying in school and creating an atmosphere to dispel any toxic self believes. Roderick and Sherry met in college and began a long lasting friendship that has placed her at the helm of the foundations leadership team.

FOF’s core narrative includes classes on resume writing, interviews, adult literacy and etiquette courses.  Host Genedotcom.com smiled, “If you knew Sherry she would have wanted the mission to move forward.  Her plans were well laid out.”  Sherry’s team speaks highly of her philanthropy, her brand and giving back to the girls in the city.  Sherry’s mantra to the young was a vivid reminder to “shoot for the moon and make your ideas larger than life”

Mark your calendar to attend the Pure White Affair scheduled for Saturday, March 16th at 8 p.m. in the Grand Rose Ballroom. 9222 Arlington Expressway.
