Sharon Coon along with community agency United Way, has been bestowed with the highest honor awarded by the Florida Library Association. The award was presented to Mrs. Coon and the agency in Orlando for her work with the Brentwood Library and United Way’s Reading Pals program respectively.
As founder and chair of the Friends of the Brentwood Library, Coon has grown the organization to over 40 members and saved the library from closure twice.
