Community Champions Honored While Jaguars defeated by Titans

In the team’s home opener, the Jaguars were defeated by the Titans, 37-16, on Sunday, September 17 at EverBank Field. The loss pushed the Jaguars to 1-1 before the team’s Week 3 bout against the Ravens in their annual game at London’s Wembley Stadium. During halftime, Bartram Springs elementary honor roll student Khaliyah Harewood, age 10, received the Jaguars Everbank Community Champion award. Harewood was chosen for her homeless volunteering efforts which began a year ago when during the Christmas holiday she volunteered at the Sulzbacher Center. Harewood is currently continuing her efforts with providing hygiene items to the homeless in Hemming Plaza and shelters throughout the city. Khaliyah’s proud grandmother nominated her and stood proud as the stadium, roared and cheered. Jaguar Players also have offered to volunteer to work with her.  Stay tuned for the next Jaguars home game versus the Los Angles Rams scheduled for Sunday, October 15th at 4:05 p.m. Barlow photo
