The City of Jacksonville invites the community to celebrate the life, legacy and service of Martin Luther King, Jr. at the 34th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast presented by Florida Blue. This year’s event will be free and open to the public via a virtual livestream.
The event will be streamed live on Friday, Jan. 15, 2021 from the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center. The YouTube livestream pre-show will begin at 8 a.m. and the live program will begin at 8:30 a.m. Those interested in virtually attending the event should pre-register to secure their digital ticket.
This year’s event will feature a panel of community leaders that will be discussing racial injustice, education, healthcare, economic mobility and other moderated questions. Our panelists include City of Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry, Superintendent of Duval County Public Schools and 2021 Florida Superintendent of the Year Dr. Diana Greene, UF Health CEO Dr. Leon Haley and United Way of Northeast Florida President and CEO Michelle Braun. The breakfast will be hosted and moderated by Joy Purdy from News4Jax and Anthony Austin from First Coast News.
The program will also recognize the Tomorrow’s Leaders presented by VyStar Credit Union award recipients. Tomorrow’s Leaders presented by VyStar Credit Union is a component of the breakfast that recognizes and awards young students in our community who exemplify the philosophies of Dr. King through leadership, community volunteerism and civic responsibility.
