St.Paul AME UF Health Town Hall Meeting

You are invited to a first-of-its-kind Town Hall Meeting for Black adult patients and other community members, physicians and other health care providers, health care administrators, health researchers, community scientists, community health workers, and others who care about improving the health, health care quality, and health outcomes of Blacks adults. At this meeting you will learn about and then discuss recent health care research in which Black adult patients in Jacksonville and Gainesville identified ways to improve health care use and quality and health outcomes for patients similar to themselves.
Topics that will be discussed are:
• Factors that influence traditional health care and telehealth use by Black older adults, including perceived racist behaviors by physicians
• Views of Black women who have obesity on what they want their physicians to say and do and not say and do when talking about their weight
• A physician-implemented intervention program for maintaining weight loss among Black women primary care patients who have obesity
The meeting chair and a presenter is Dr. Carolyn M. Tucker, Florida Blue Endowed Chair in Health Disparities Research, and Director of the UF Health Cancer Center’s Community-Partnered Cancer Disparities Research Collaborative.
Questions and comments from the audience will be a highlight of the meeting!
