Seniors on a Mission is set to host the Denim and Dancing event on November 22, showcasing plans for housing solutions for seniors in Jacksonville.
Why it matters: As the U.S. population ages, there is a growing need for accessible housing solutions. By 2035, there will be more people over the age of 65 than under 18, highlighting the urgency for initiatives that allow seniors to “age in place.”
The big picture: The event will unveil a unique, purpose-driven community in Jacksonville for middle-income seniors, offering affordable living with organic food and utilities included. Villagers commit to community service, fostering engagement and purpose.
Details: The event will feature a night of food and music, honoring Susan B. Towler, Seniors on a Mission’s 2024 Ambassador. Join Executive Director Joanne Hickox and Emcee Charlene Shirk at the Florida Blue Conference Center. Tickets are complimentary thanks to corporate sponsors, but registration is required.
