Mayors Trailblazers Award Ceremony  – Mayors Trailblazers Award Ceremony will take place Monday, September 8th, 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., honoring Johnetta Betsch Cole, an American anthropologist, educator and museum director and granddaughter of Florida’s first black millionaire Abraham Lincoln Lewis and Mary Kingsley Sammis whose great-grandparents were Zephaniah Kingsley, a slave trader and slave owner, and his wife and former slave Anna Madgigine Jai, originally from present-day Senegal. The Kingsley Plantation home at Fort George Island home is protected as a National Historic Landmark. The ceremony will take place in the Mayors Large Conference Room, 117 W. Duval St., Suite 400.
