JBPO Honors Chief Charles Scriven

The Jacksonville Brotherhood of Police Officers will commemorate a historic 40th Anniversary milestone on Saturday, November 16th, at 7 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel Jacksonville Airport, 2101 Dixie Clipper Drive.
The celebration honors Chief Charles Scriven (retired), who in 1973, made history when he became the first African American Police Chief of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office in Duval County. Dinner, live music, inspiring historical exhibits and stories are planned to remember the remarkable journey and history of blacks in law enforcement in our city.
