JACKSONVILLE, Fla., September 16, 2024 – Jax Book Fest returns to the Main Library Friday and Saturday, September 20-21, for a two-day celebration of books, bestselling authors and all things reading! The event includes a Junior Lit Chat Author Talk with celebrated children’s book author and illustrator Vashti Harrison, a Teen Lit Chat with Jason Reynolds and a keynote Lit Chat Author Interview with novelist Gabrielle Zevin.
Readers will also have the opportunity to meet and support dozens of Jacksonville-based and other Florida authors, who will be promoting their books at tables set up throughout the conference center and first and second floors.
For young children and their families, there will be book giveaways, live entertainment, face painters, balloon artists, scavenger hunts and other fun reading-related activities in and around the Children’s Room. Talented local teens will take the spotlight in the Teen Room where students from both LaVilla and Douglas Anderson School for the Arts take the mic to share their poetry and more!
