Fort Mose Historic State Park – Flight to Freedom 22

Step back into the year 1738 and experience the hopes, fears and sacrifices made by Freedom Seekers’ flight from British plantations toward the free Black community in Fort Mose in Spanish Florida during the Flight to Freedom reenactment January 27-29 at the Fort Mose Historic State Park.

Fort Mose is the first legally sanctioned free Black settlement in North America and the destination of the original Underground Railroad, running south.

This unique journey into history will offer Free Trail Tours every 15 minutes from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. EST each day. School and youth groups are encouraged to attend on Thursday and Friday. There will be mid-day entertainment from 11 a.m.-noon on Saturday. Guests can also visit the Fort Mose Museum, which is open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Entry fee is $2.

On-site parking is available Thursday and Friday. Satellite parking on Saturday, with shuttles providing rides from off-site parking to the Fort until 3:45 p.m.
