Bishop Guns and School Superintendent Plan “Youth Lives Matter” for Area Students

Ducal County School Superintendent Dr. Nikolai Vitti and Bishop John Guns recently sat down to discuss a new initiative, “Youth Lives Matter”. Troubled by the increased youth violence in northwest communities.

The educational and ecumenical leaders discussed school and community-based strategies to improve the safety and well-being of youth. The leaders are encouraging parents and the community to support efforts to end youth violence by providing mentorship and resources that give children hope, and empower them to be thoughtful about what they do and who they spend their time with.

They also announced that Operation Save Our Sons will lead several “Let’s Talk” discussions with male students at Raines, Ribault and Jackson high schools prior to their winter break in addition to Ed White and Westside high schools when the students return in January.
