Bank of America Empowers Urban Youth

Bank of America’s free ‘Golf with Us Clinic’ for youth from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida teaches students the fundamentals of golf. The programs kick-off was held at the Jacksonville Beach Golf Club. Students showed up with smiles to receive their volunteer shirt and mingle with their peers, pro golfers and BOA executives.

The Golf with Us Clinic demonstrates Bank of America’s (BofA) commitment to introducing the next generation to play and learn, not only the game of golf but also important life skills and better money habits. Participants were instructed by golf professionals, rotating between stations as the instructors shared insights and life skills from their personal journeys along with golf instruction. Ladies Pro Golf Association (LPGA) golfer Morgan Pressel was elated to see the students arrive on the course, “I’m excited to be here to help encourage young people to get in the game of life; I think about what it has done for me. It teaches you about yourself; golf emulates life.”

BofA launched Golf with Us in April in partnership with Youth on Course to expand golf access nationwide. The program has enrolled more than 35,000 young people (ages 6-18) in a free, one-year membership to Youth on Course, which offers rounds for $5 or less at courses across the country including Jacksonville Beach Golf Club. “We are super excited with our partnership with Youth on Course. We at BofA love all the great sports past times. Being active and being outdoors is our mantra. Our partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida is a program where we assist with their rebranding, help with pizza parties and yearly collaboration,” said BofA Marketing Executive Sheila Cribb.
