
By Eugene Eubanks | The Black Promoters Collective ‘Floetry Presents: Say Yes The Tour,’ featuring Floetry, Raheem DeVaughn, and Teedra Moses was recently front and center at the Florida Theatre in downtown Jacksonville. Marking their first national run together since 2016, Floetry fans were front and central for The Floetry concert held inside the Florida was an electrifying and creatively inspiring experience—one that embodied spirituality, consciousness, and a renewed appreciation for life. These two remarkable sisters, returning to the stage after time away from the spotlight, delivered more than a musical performance; they created a transformative atmosphere that united people through pride, social awareness, and spiritual connection.
Their presence was a powerful reminder of the beauty and strength of Black women using their God-given gifts to uplift, inspire, and heal through art. At a time when society deeply needs examples of unity and collaboration, their performance reflected a fundamental principle we all long for—love for one another. Through informative, connective, and soul-stirring music, they reminded the audience that music remains one of the most powerful forces for bringing people together. Most importantly, it was uplifting to witness strong Black sisters returning to the stage with purpose, proving that when passion, faith, and authenticity align, the impact extends far beyond entertainment—it becomes a message the world needs to hear.


Teedra Moses opened the evening with her hit song “Just Want to Be Your Girl,” setting the stage perfectly for the electrifying entrance of Raheem DeVaughn. From the moment he stepped on stage, DeVaughn delivered more than a concert—he created an experience rooted in music, and genuine connection with the audience. Reliving his many hits, DeVaughn proved why he remains one of R&B’s most complete entertainers. His songwriting ability captivated the crowd as he performed an extensive catalog of love songs that celebrated the beauty, strength, and essence of Black women. Charismatic and engaging throughout the night, his stage presence was magnetic as he moved through the audience, even singing from the balcony while maintaining flawless vocals that sounded just like his recordings.
Adding to the evening’s energy, DeVaughn paid tribute to legendary sounds including Earth, Wind & Fire while incorporating the rhythmic influence of his Washington, D.C. go-go roots. Beyond the music, he also used his platform to advocate for the protection and safety of Black women, speaking passionately about the importance of supporting nonprofit organizations dedicated to uplifting and protecting women in the community. His showmanship was top-tier, blending soulful artistry, advocacy, and heartfelt audience engagement into a memorable performance that resonated long after the final song.
