By Suzy Becker | The Elaine Stallings Library is now a permanent part of Pace Center for Girls, Jacksonville. More than a collection of books, it is a space intentionally designed for girls to find their voice, expand their vision, and believe in what comes next. Made possible through the generous support of the Elaine Stallings Foundation, the library honors the legacy of the late Elaine Stallings—a lifelong advocate for literacy and founder of The Book Exchange, a bi-annual literary event she led for 24 years alongside Jim Stallings. That vision was carried forward by advocates across the city, grounded in a shared understanding: when you invest in girls, you shift the trajectory of families, communities, and generations. Members of the Book Exchange came together to celebrate a unified commitment to build something lasting.
