The historic Bethel Church welcomed church members and the community to their 2025, ‘Connect Conference – Connecting Reverence to Relevance.’ Conference sessions and topics were designed to provide practical application and spiritual inspiration to all who minister to youth.
Attendees checked in early for a day of conference sessions and welcome from keynote speaker Pastor Mark Dickerson. Participates chose from rotation of four breakout sessions with 10 topics from which to choose. Each session was led by subject matter experts on teaching with creativity, writing curriculum, ministering to kids with special needs, leveraging technology, connecting with teens, and more. Designed to engage, registrants asked questions directed to experienced youth pastors, minsters and educators focused on making the word of God relevant in the lives of the Gen Z (those born between 1990s – 2012) and Gen Alpha (those born roughly between 2013-2024) generations.
Pastor Barry Young, II, reminded all in attendance, “The church must stay rooted in its foundation of faith while simultaneously extending its reach to this current generation,” he said.
