6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion Honors Florita Smith

The historic 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, the only all-Black, all-female battalion deployed overseas during World War II will honor and recognize Ms. Florita Smith, she left behind a powerful legacy of faith, service, and leadership. Last month, her family received the Congressional Gold Medal on her behalf, one of the highest civilian honors, recognizing her service to our nation.
