Scholarships and Excellence Focus of NCI Golf Tournament

For the love of the game the 11th Annual Northside Community Involvement “Golf Tournament of Unity” was held at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort, Ocean Links Golf Course near historic Fernandina Beach, FL. Participants had the opportunity to tee off from one of three Aububon International Certified Sanctuary Golf Courses. Golfers ended the tee time with a relaxing afternoon followed by a catered lunch, silent auction and raffle. Highlighting the golf tournament luncheon was the awards presented to the 7th annual essay writing competition winners. The essay topic expounded on the difference between a leader and a hero.  NCI judged the competitors on the power of the essay message, clarity of thought, spelling, punctuation and grammar. Winners received a touch screen laptop computer, apple watch and a 200 cash prize. Northside Community Involvement Incorporated is dedicated to improving the lives of children, families and individuals who are considered living 80% below the poverty level, at risk or high risk and emotionally damaged persons who are unable to make proactive decisions, free of destructive and sabotaging behaviors. NCI nonprofit organization is designed to give individuals, children and families from all walks of life, a chance to help improve their lives by becoming a vital part of their community.
