Last weekend, northside residents joined Citi corporate staff and Wealth Watchers came together to revitalize the local community. As part of Wealth Watchers partnership with Carter G. Woodson Elementary School on the northside of Jacksonville, Citi and community volunteers participated in a beautification effort around the school, which included activities such as painting and planting. “The partnership has helped to change people’s minds and perceptions about the school,” said Cheryl Gaston, principal. “Wealth Watcher’s investment in a school shows the community that someone cares. It gives the community a lot of hope and inspiration.”

The event was part of NeighborWorks Week 2016 (June 4-11), where neighbors, NeighborWorks organizations, and others come together for a week of neighborhood change and awareness.

The Citi Foundation is NeighborWorks America’s national partner for NeighborWorks Week. The event is one of 10 events across the country held simultaneously with Citi volunteers as a part of the company’s flagship volunteer program, Global Community Day. Volunteers work alongside local residents and community leaders to improve communities.
