Teachers at Northwestern Legends Elementary were treated to free coffee drinks from the Grounds of Grace coffee bus as part of a special event for National Teacher Appreciation Week.  Located on 45th street and sponsored by online nonprofit Western Governors University, the coffee bus served more than 50 teachers and staff with a full service espresso bar, specialty milks, syrups and coffee.

Northwestern Legends Elementary is a Title I school serving a large population of low-income families. It is the first merger school in the Duval County Public Schools system (consolidated with Carter G. Woodson Elementary) and is celebrating its first year of being fully staffed. Since 1984, the National Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has designated a week in May as Teacher Appreciation Week acknowledging the dedication and contributions of teachers nationwide, celebrating with events at national, state and local levels.
