Feeding Northeast Florida (FNEFL), recently hosted its sixth annual Bourbon & Brisket event, presented by Morgan & Morgan. The event featured an elevated evening of bold spirits, guided whiskey tastings, delicious bites, exclusive giveaways and wonderful company, including over 16 sponsors and vendors, to raise funds for the regional food bank. Despite record-breaking cold weather, more than 200 people joined Feeding Northeast Florida staff, friends and volunteers at the event held at Strings Sports Brewery (located at 1618 Penman Rd. in Jacksonville Beach). Guests sampled some of Jacksonville’s finest bold beverages and savory plates and enjoyed an exciting silent auction.
The evening was a great success, raising enough funds to help provide more than 275,000 meals for children, families and seniors facing food insecurity across the food bank’s 12-county service area. Beyond the funds, the event helped raise awareness about the very real challenges our neighbors face every day and reminded the community that access to nutritious food is foundational to health, stability and hope.
