Stanton Class of 1957 Blue Devils Celebrated 58 years last weekend

Summers in the south are a rich time of gathering and reminiscing as citizens from throughout the country and beyond return home to celebrate the rich cultural tradition of commemorating their high school reunion. For many years in Jacksonville, there was only one high school – Stanton. Last weekend, New Stanton Senior High’s class of 1957 and the class of 1975 held their reunions to honor their alma mater and friendships.

The Class of 1957 held a three day affair headquartered at the Jacksonville Airport Doubletree Hotel and other locations throughout Jacksonville.

They were not alone. The Class of 1975 have held quarterly planning meetings for the past year to enjoy their fellowship culminating at Phillipian Community Church.
Throughout its tenure, the school’s names have included, Stanton Vocational, New Stanton and the current Stanton College Prep school it is today.
