The Delta Delta Chapter of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Incorporated, hosted its annual sisterhood retreat in St. Augustine, Florida, with the theme “Sisterhood on Fire: Lead, Elevate, Innovate, and Excel.” The three-day event brought members together for workshops on health and wellness, technology and its use in the classroom, as well as sessions on communication styles and how they shape collaboration and sisterhood. Sisters also engaged in spiritual reflection, focusing on the power of prayer and gratitude as guiding principles for leadership and service. The retreat concluded with a visit to St. Paul AME Church located in St. Augustine, Florida, a historic landmark once visited by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In keeping with the sorority’s mission of youth, education, and service, the chapter presented a monetary donation to the church’s youth department.
Organizers said, “the retreat was both uplifting and inspiring, giving members an opportunity to bond, share laughter, and create memories while strengthening their commitment to leadership and service.” Phi Delta Kappa was founded January 24, 1906 as a professional sorority for women in the field of education. Chartered September 29, 1979, the local Delta Delta Chapter is dedicated to educational development, community involvement and sisterhood activities.
