To combat neighborhood chatter and reclaim the trust of the community, Mayor Donna Deegan hosted a series of town halls to discuss her budget priorities and update citizens on a range of city projects and initiatives. The town halls are free and open to the public with no registration required. Duval citizens, residents and parents stepped to the microphone to ask questions and receive answers from the mayor on next steps in the school/council districts, and city budget issues associated with repairs to city streets, construction services, taxes and more. Mayor Deegan’s tour began September 2nd at Mandarin Senior Center, and included tour stops at First Coast High School, Ed White High School, Fletcher High School, Riverside High School, Fort Caroline Middle School of the Arts, with the final stop scheduled for Monday, September 22nd inside Northside Church of Christ, 4736 Ave B.
