February 24, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Art Gallery Exhibit Opening: “Revived, Redefined, Resolved” featuring sculptures by Khamil Ojoyo February 24, 2015 from 6-8 p.m.–Art Gallery, Room C122 North Campus, 4501 Capper Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218 Khamil L. Ojoyo’s name and philosophy are directly linked to his art and personality. Khamil, meaning true to form, and Ojoyo, it’s a joy when people come together. He developed a love for constructing wood objects from a young age through lessons from woodshop instructors and an apprenticeship with a construction company. Ojoyo refers to his inventions as Multi-Assemblage Constructions (MAC) and his conservationist nature directs his attention to recycling objects that will otherwise end up in an obscure, lifeless, landfill. For almost four decades, Ojoyo has produced and participated in numerous juried exhibits, one man shows and group exhibitions. When Ojoyo is not creating art, he is busy running Two Nails and a Hammer, a home repair and painting company, and teaches NCCER Core Curriculum in construction at the historic Clara White Mission.
