Norwegian Cruise Line has officially opened Great Tides Waterpark at its private island destination, Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas, marking one of the largest enhancements to the island in the company’s history.
To celebrate the launch, NCL hosted an exclusive VIP event attended by media, travel advisors, government officials, including the Prime Minister of The Bahamas, and special guests such as actor Josh Peck and NHL player Taylor Hall. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was emceed by Froggy from Elvis Duran and the Morning Show and featured experiences from brand partners including Aperol, Casamigos, Coca-Cola and Hampton Water.
The new attraction was designed for travelers of all ages and includes:
- 19 waterslides
- The cruise industry’s first cliff jumps
- A dedicated kids splash zone
- The immersive Wandering River
- Family-friendly and relaxation-focused experiences throughout the park
The opening represents a major milestone in NCL’s continued investment in Great Stirrup Cay and further positions the destination as a leading private island experience in the Caribbean. Guests can visit the island on a variety of itineraries sailing from New York, Philadelphia, Miami, Orlando (Port Canaveral), Tampa, and Jacksonville.
