Presidential Learning Center Celebrates Milestone with First Summer Bash

Shown at the event standing are Presidential Learning Center President Sterlin Scott with staff supporters Latoya Dixson, Steven Smothers and Arzra McNeal in the VPK classroom preparing to meet with KHA representative Sylvester Pickney to discuss the quality of the organizations summer bash program.
As it approaches its first anniversary, Presidential Learning Center hosted its inaugural Summer Bash, bringing together students, families and staff, for a day of games, music, food, and community fellowship. The event celebrated the center’s growth since opening in October 2025 and reinforced its mission of providing quality early childhood education. Founder Sterlin Scott said the center looks forward to expanding community partnerships while continuing its commitment to “Educating Future Presidents.”

“As we look forward to our second year, we are excited about continuing to grow, strengthen our community partnerships, and provide quality early childhood education,” said Sterling Scott, founder of Presidential Learning Center. Scott, a graduate of the University of North Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government, spent five years teaching in Duval County Public Schools before pursuing his lifelong dream of owning a childcare center. “From the age of five, I knew I wanted to own a childcare center,” Scott said. “Growing up, I would play ‘daycare’ with my cousins and brother, and even then, I understood that I was born to be a childcare provider.”

Today, Presidential Learning Center serves children from infancy through Florida’s Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) program and also offers before- and after-school care.
