Nearly 400 residents gathered at the Emmett Reed Community Center for the 4th annual Summer Hope Fest at the Center of Hope at Emmett Reed Community Center, bringing together families, community resources, and entertainment in a celebration of neighborhood unity.

Hosted by the Center of Hope, the event brought together residents from across North Jacksonville for a day of food, entertainment and community engagement. Attendees enjoyed free grilled lunches, music, dancing, games, raffles, prizes, giveaways, while also gaining access to a variety of community support services.

One of the events most popular attractions was the Threads of Resilience clothing boutique, which provided free clothing and essential items to families in need. Youth talent also took center stage throughout the day, with performances that included spoken word presentations, dance routines, piano solos, and other artistic showcases.

According to Jada Hunter, this year’s festival was the largest  Summer Hope Fest gathering to date.

The Center of Hope serves as a one-stop resource hub for residents of Jacksonville’s 32209 Zip code, offering free programs and services focused on maternal and family support, workforce development, parenting education, children’s services, basic needs assistance, mobile medical care and a community gardening initiatives.

Organizers said the annual festival continues to strengthen connections among residents while raising awareness of resources available to support individuals and families year-round. Through a combination of entertainment, outreach and community partnerships, Summer Hope Fest has become a signature event dedicated to promoting hope, resilience and neighborhood empowerment.
