An evening of excellence and inspiration recently unfolded as ONYX Magazine hosted its Sixth Annual Men of Honor Awards at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando. This year’s celebration honored 22 distinguished men from around the state for their exemplary leadership and service. Included among the honorees were Jacksonville residents Charles Griggs, Director of Community Initiatives in the Jacksonville Mayor’s Office, and Joe Jones, civil rights activist. The annual Men of Honor Awards is billed as one of central Florida’s most esteemed events that recognizes those who embodied this year’s theme, “The Tallest Trees in the Forest.” The evening also highlighted eight young men receiving scholarships in recognition of their academic promise and community spirit.
