Divine Nine Delivers 29th Annual December to Remember Celebrating Giving and Community Spirit to Local Families

The Clara White Mission held court inside the Police Athletic League (PAL) headquarters on the Northside to recognize families in need for their annual December to Remember event. For nearly three decades, this holiday tradition has brought joy and hope to families in need, exemplifying the power of community, compassion, and collaboration. The event features a special Christmas Party for six deserving families, vetted by the Clara White Mission through applications submitted by local nonprofits, schools, and community organizations. The celebration begins with their personal stories being shared on V101.5 radio after Thanksgiving, touching listeners across Jacksonville. On the day of the event, families gather for an unforgettable afternoon filled with festive cheer, including: Santa Claus visits for the families; fulfillment of every child, parent, or caregiver’s “Christmas Wish List” items; a festive luncheon for the selected six families and a surprise financial gift to support the families.

Since its inception, the initiative has supported over 206 families and impacted 565 individuals, creating lasting memories and uplifting spirits during the holiday season. Many families have returned to pay it forward, contributing to the event as volunteers and or donors.

“We are incredibly honored to host this event for the 29th year,” said Ju’Coby Pittman, CEO/Clara White Mission. “This celebration is a testament to the strength of our community and the generosity of our partners. Together, we ensure that the selected families feel the magic of the holidays,” said Pittman.

The sponsors on deck included radio station V101.5, Chiropractic Physicians Drs Royce/Shelita McGowan https://mcgowansrc.com/and the First Coast National Pan Hellenic Council https://firstcoastnphc.org/ that boasts more than 150 local Greek sororities and fraternities.
