FSCJ Romance Author Brenda Jackson Presentation

Romance Author Brenda Jackson Presentation –North Campus will host New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Brenda Jackson. She was the first African-American author to have a novel published as part of the Silhouette Desire line, and has seen many of her novels reach the New York Times and USA Today bestsellers lists. Ms. Jackson will discuss the ins and outs of publishing, her publishing history, including the struggles and the successes. She will talk about her popular book families and how she came up with the idea for the Madarises, Westmorelands and Steele families and the longevity of her family series including how they continue to hold the readers’ interest. She will also answer questions from the audience about writing and publishing. This will include the craft of writing, plotting, character development, pacing and dialogue.
