DESCRIPTION:The Jacksonville City Council’s Safer Together Initiative consists of a series of workshops on a variety of topics including community policing\, police policy\, procedure\, and budgeting. City Council President Tommy Hazouri appointed Councilmember Joyce Morgan\, District 1 and Councilmember Michael Boylan\, District 6 to oversee this effort.  The aim of this program is to give the public a chance to interact with members of the Council\, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office\, other community stakeholders\, and subject matter experts to address these very important issues.  These workshops will be fact finding in nature with the goal of fostering constructive dialogue about the challenges\, successes\, and opportunities available to us to make this a safer community for all our citizens. Our next meeting will be held on Zoom Monday\, April 5\, 2021 at 6:00 PM. Please find additional information and the attached Zoom link\, and mark your calendars accordingly. (AACS) of Flagler County located in Palm Coast Fla. will host the second in a series of teleconferences whose aim is to facilitate a greater understanding of the Covid disease\, its mutations\, available vaccines\, and the residual effects of quarantine on the mental health of the community. \nIn partnership with the Flagler County Department of Health\, Advent Health\, community-based organizations and leaders\, AACS strives to serve as a clearing house for unaddressed questions and concerns contributing to ‘vaccine hesitancy’. \nThe April 8th conference consisting of the following will be video taped and made available to the public via YouTube along with the initial conference. On April 12\, 2021 from 9 am to 11 am AACS will schedule people aged 18 and up to have their first vaccine of Moderna. \nThere will need to be a follow up of the same vaccine in 4 weeks – on May 10\, 2021 9 am – 11am.\nAACS will screen those who arrive at the facility to determine if they need to receive their vaccine closer to medical care\, as there will be another location servicing those with severe allergies\, etc. \nAt the present time we have a limit of 200 slots that will be offered to members and their families and then open to the public.
