Youth W.I.N. with Boys Basketball Mentoring Program

Working to Improve Neighborhoods (W.I.N.) a crime prevention/youth empowerment program that uses organized basketball as a vehicle to create positive social change and encourages leadership among Jacksonville’s underserved male youth ages 12-18 held their yearly summer program at Northside Church of Christ. Participants in the eight week summer program attend mandatory night workshops which focus on values, self-control, self-discipline, accountability, and conflict resolution skills through faith-based teaching. Mentors are assigned to each participant. The program hosts a total of 50 young males each year, eager to learn from their mentors. Shown is motivational speaker Leonard Chatman, President of The Chatman Group spewing advice, knowledge and wisdom to the young males in the program.
