Working to Improve Neighborhoods (W.I.N.) a crime prevention/youth empowerment program that uses organized basketball as a vehicle to create positive social change and encourages leadership among Jacksonville’s underserved male youth ages 12-18 held their yearly summer program at Northside Church of Christ. Participants in the eight week summer program attend mandatory night workshops which focus on values, self-control, self-discipline, accountability, and conflict resolution skills through faith-based teaching. Mentors are assigned to each participant. The program hosts a total of 50 young males each year, eager to learn from their mentors.
