Teens Learn Importance of Service and Altruism

The youth groups of the Delta Delta Chapter of Phi Belta Kappa Sorority, Inc. – Xinos and Kudos – placed their mantra of service in action last weekend with Dignity-U-Wear. The students and adults gave up a relaxing Saturday at home to work for three hours sorting and folding underwear for underprivileged families. The groups were led by their president, Xinos Mariah Franklin and Kudos Jarrell Williams. “Our goal is to help students learn to give back to the community. We can’t express how important it is for the Xinos and Kudos self-esteem. The students openly express how much they enjoyed completing this service task for the community,” said Delta Delta Chapter member Pat Williams. The Dignity-U-Wear agency gives brand new clothing to schools and nonprofit agencies serving those in need. Clothing is distributed to individuals through agency partnerships, a network of 210 social service nonprofits.
