Season 2 American Idol Winner Ruben Studdard is bringing sexy back with his tribute touring showcase of “Always & Forever: An Evening of Luther Vandross,” headed to Jacksonville, Florida Wednesday, May 9th. Jax Free Press spoke to Ruben and learned that his mother is the one that turned him on to the sounds of Luther Vandross, “I definitely appreciate his music and his legacy. I enjoyed all music growing up, Hip Hop, R&B”. When asked what Jax should expect from the show? “We are traveling the road from Connecticut to Florida and bringing Luther and I together on stage. You have to be there to hear and see it.” Last question, what’s your advice to American Idols contestants? “Duh,” he said, “it’s a singing competition, so they better know how to sing and continue to perfect their craft”.
