Miss Duval Delivers Beauty and More Than meets the Eye

On Sunday, June 17th, nine contestants vied for the coveted crown of Miss Duval 2018. Contestants strutted before a panel of seven judges and an enthusiastic crowd of fans.

The categories of competition included presentation self expression, talent, sportswear, evening wear and a question and answer segment. This year’s theme was “In the Garden of Duval.”  This pageant highlights the art of the female impersonation and is intense and competitive. The Duval pageantry system is a validation and training ground for aspiring Drag Queens and artists. The winners must represent Duval throughout the year with public appearances, performances and personal integrity. This year’s winner of the Miss Duval Pageant is local artist Brittney Moore. Pageant owner, Marissa Armstead stepped up the ante with this pageant for the last 24 years.  The pageant has grown into a production that rivals a red carpet affair.
