Melanin Market Kicks off Eastside Vendor Fair

Over 75 Black owned businesses and nonprofit organizations gathered along the street and sidewalks of A. Phillips Randolph Blvd February 4th for the Inaugural Historic Eastside Arts and Vendors Market. This event kicked off Black History Month with the Melanin Market & Parade. Over 400 participants including the EWC Marching Band marched in the parade starting from Matthew Gilbert Middle School and concluding at Jessie St. The concept of the Melanin Market is to provide a neighborhood marketplace that provides fresh food options, showcases local businesses, nonprofits, artist, entertainers and educational and health programming that is beneficial for both the community resident (consumer) and the service provider and or/business owner.
