Lupus Survivors Celebrated at Gala

The Black Girls Network hosted their inaugural Black Girls Network Lupus Gala to raise awareness to the autoimmune disease known as Lupus.

The formal affair was attended by club members and lupus survivors at the Grand Rose Ballroom adorned in purple and lavender attire to support the Lupus Foundation mission of empowerment, education, support and health information.

Founded by Kim Godbold in honor of her sister, she organized the gala to recognize those who suffer form the debilitating disease.

“I want everyone to understand that having Lupus is serious to those who suffer from it,” she said.
