Local black businesses have the opportunity to impart their entrepreneurial wisdom while enriching local students’ career hopes and pockets thanks to the Annie Ruth Foundation. The Foundation’s Summer Internship Program, presently in its fourth year, connects high school students with local professionals to prepare them in potential career areas.
Through the six-week program, local high school students attended a one-day business seminar in addition to submitting a 1,000 word essay. The host company in turn mentors the intern; providing training, tools and resources.
It is made possible by local business leaders who agree that preparing youth to be successful is essential to the future of our society.
