Kitt-Sugar Nuptials

By Lynn Jones – High School sweethearts Jennifer Sugar and Reverend Gary Kitt were married this past Saturday  in the sanctuary of Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. The sweethearts who met in the sixth grade are both graduates of Raines High School class of 1986.  The ceremony, which included a wedding party of twelve, was officiated by Reverend Robert E. Herring Sr.  Participants were adorned in the couples Greek colors of royal blue, white and silver representing Zeta Phi Beta, Inc. and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.

The bride holds a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education from Edward Waters College and a Master’s of Science in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University and is employed with Duval County Public Schools as an elementary school teacher. The groom holds a B.S. in Fine Arts from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and is employed with the City of Jacksonville in addition to being the assistant pastor at Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Jennifer and Gary will embark on a five day honeymoon cruise to the Bahamas visiting Freeport and Nassau and will reside in Jacksonville.
