By Nicole Merritt-Lester – As Houston prepared to host the fifty-first Super Bowl Games, the Houston Super Bowl Committee is charged with the exciting task of searching for and selecting the area’s greatest talent to perform during its 10-day celebration. This year out of a chosen few, Jazz Vocalist and Soulful Siren, Akia Uwanda was commissioned to perform during a series of NFL sanctioned events!
The Raines graduate is also a multitalented actress, model and singer, hailing from Jacksonville, Florida. Her stint in Houston extended from January 23 to February 6, as she made special appearances and graced the stage at several Super Bowl entertainment activations, leading up to the main event, including the Four Seasons Hotel, Houston. At each venue, Akia performed her newest single “You Seem Familiar,” rendering the inoculating Akia Uwanda Experience. Pictured is Akia Uwanda basking in the Houston Super Bowl Glow!
