Fullwood Ends Silence Officially Filing to Retain His Seat

Rep. Reggie Fullwood

Ending speculation and vowing to fight a mounting candidate pool, State Rep. Reggie Fullwood officially filed this week to retain his seat for House District 13. This year legal woes have emerged against the political veteran that some have speculated to have made his office vulnerable.
As a decade long Free Press contributor, Rep. Fullwood released the following exclusive statement:

To my Free Press readers and constituents,

I would like to let you know that after careful thought, consideration, consultation and most importantly prayer, I have decided to run for re-election.

This was not a decision that was made in a vacuum or for selfish reason. At the age of 22, I decided to run for office because of my passion for helping people and defending “the little guy.” And that passion hasn’t diminished. It is that commitment to helping those in need and bettering our community that leads me to the decision to continue my service to the citizens of District 13.

As your State Representative, over the past six years I have had the opportunity to help fund mentoring programs, deliver additional education funds and resources to our local schools and help to ensure funding for early learning programs like VPK. Together we have made a difference, but I know that there is so much more that needs to be done.

Together we can improve our communities, effect change and transform the landscape of our city and ensure a better quality of life for our children. I pledge to continue fighting for you. I just ask that you continue supporting me as we strive to transform Jacksonville’s Northside, downtown and Arlington.
